LONDON - informa healthcare - one of the world's leading medical and scientific publishers - is marking one of the biggest weeks in London's biopharmaceutical calendar with a new collaboration between its own Scrip Awards and the London Biotechnology Network's Genesis Biotechnology Conference being held in December.
London's 2-day annual biotechnology conference, Genesis 2008, will take place at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre on December 9th and 10th, featuring an enriched conference programme with new regional sessions and a focus on complementary biotechnology. In addition, the conference will showcase the latest university technology, host UKTI's BioBusiness Exchange and provide state-of-the-art networking facilities.
The Scrip Awards will be held on December 10th at London's Hilton Park Lane, where some 800 industry leaders will witness the presentation of the pharmaceutical industry's most prestigious and hotly contested awards, including for the biotech and pharma companies of the year and the best new drug.
Attendees who register for both events are being offered a dual 10% discount as well as the opportunity to make the most of valuable time in London by attending two events in one visit. In addition, two of The Scrip Awards' categories will be discussed in-depth at Genesis.
"We are delighted with Genesis' link to The Scrip Awards and we encourage attendees to make the most of the clear synergies between these two high profile and highly respected events," says Tony Jones, Director of the London Biotechnology Network.
"Attending The Scrip Awards - with its networking opportunities - will be an ideal way of ending two days of the Genesis Conference and finding out - first-hand - who is being presented with the 'Oscars' of the pharma industry," adds Tony.
"Our two events give employees of biotech and pharma companies worldwide a double reason to come to London in December," says The Scrip Awards' Jenefer Trevena. "The business information and networking opportunities that The Scrip Awards and Genesis offer make them 'must attend' events for senior staff in both sectors."
"We are particularly excited that the link between The Scrip Awards and Genesis looks set to result in conference sessions linking in with two of our awards categories: Best Partnership Alliance and Licensing Deal of the Year," adds Jenefer. "In the sessions, delegates will be given a unique insight into what it takes to excel in these areas, prior to attending The Scrip Awards and seeing the winners first-hand."
