PICRA, the Pharmaceutical Industry Contract Research Alliance, is a consortium of small to mid-sized specialized service companies that provide high-quality services throughout the drug development process. Member companies provide a range of complementary services to advance programs beyond what any individual member can provide.

Manufacturing Advisory Service
To assist small and medium sized manufacturers, Manufacturing Advisory Service was launched in November 2002 to help them improve efficiency and grow their businesses. The LDA is providing £2.7 million over three years for the service, which is jointly run by Business Link for London and EEF South.
It has already achieved a number of success stories such as Farsound Engineering which, after receiving advice from MAS, increased productivity by up to 50% and significantly improved staff morale.
